This April 2001 Media Conference announced plans for two Calgary-based companies, Enbridge Inc. and Suncor Energy Inc. to build a $20 Million wind power project southeast of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. The electricity produced will be purchased by SaskPower and provide power to Federal Government buildings and other customers in Saskatchewan. The wind turbine project will produce about 40 Gw.h per year, enough to power 6,000 homes. Those in attendance included Energy & Mines Minister Maynard Sonntag, SaskPower President John Wright and company officials from Enbridge Inc. and Suncor Energy Inc. Points West worked with Enbridge, SaskPower and Suncor to stage this event.
