Nature Conservancy of Canada Historic Bison Release

In May of 2004 Point West assisted the Nature Conservancy of Canada in the historic bison release event in South West Saskatchewan. The NCC launched a national program to raise $200 million to protect 50 of the country's most significant bio diversity hot spots in Canada. One project for the NCC was the release of 50 bison from a holding field to the open range of 13,000 acre range at The Old Man on His Back Prairie Heritage Conservation area in South-western Saskatchewan. This is the first time in 100 years that bison are allowed to roam free on native prairie.

Points West role in this historic event was to handle media relations and release distribution, on site support and event logistics in conjunction with NCC.
