London Drugs openings, Saskatoon and Regina

Points West provided liaison with the media for the opening of the London Drugs first stores in Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon in the summer of 2002 and in Regina in April, 2003.

In Regina, some 5,000 shoppers attended the opening day. In the period leading up to the opening day, both CTV and the Leader Post gave coverage of the progress of the building of the London Drugs store. Immediately before opening day, interviews were successfully arranged with two radio stations. CTV and Global TV were present at the early-morning store opening and, in addition to covering the proceedings, also did extensive interviews with London Drugs Company President Wynne Powell and with Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco who commented on the city's welcome to its newest business. The Leader Post sent a reporter to the opening who also conducted an extensive interview with President Wynne Powell. A Leader Post photographer was also present; he took photos of the shoppers, the store and President Wynne Powell
